McDonald´s is launching a promotion in Sweden where kids can turn their Happy Meal boxes into virtual-reality viewers. Over the weekends of March 5 and 12 they will be available at 14 restaurants. The boxes come with the VR game “Slope Stars”, hence this time is “Sportlov” holiday where many families go skiing.
Is it really only a promotion to participate from the hype around VR these days? Or is it more a market & target group research, an approach to bind the youngsters early to the brand or even an attempt to enter a new market for the holding to invest?
